Everything We Know About the Disney Destiny: Disney Cruise Line's Heroic New Ship

All aboard, adventurers! The Disney Cruise Line is about to unveil its most daring and dynamic ship yet—the Disney Destiny—and it’s bringing heroes, villains, and a whole lot of magic to the high seas. Setting sail in November 2025 from Fort Lauderdale, this newest addition to the fleet promises an unforgettable voyage that combines action-packed storytelling, immersive theming, and the signature Disney sparkle that fans know and love.

Whether you’re a Marvel mega-fan, a parent with pint-sized pirates, or a Disney devotee dreaming of your next great escape, here’s everything we know (and love!) about the Disney Destiny.

A Ship Built on Duality: Heroes and Villains at Sea

From bow to stern, Disney Destiny embraces a bold new concept: duality. The ship’s entire design is centered around the timeless battle between good and evil, light and dark—think heroes and villains, epic journeys, and unexpected alliances. Minnie Mouse takes her place on the bow in a caped, heroic pose, while the stern features a first-of-its-kind Marvel sculpture starring none other than Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots spinning webs across the ship’s design.

Disney Destiny Grand Hall

The Grand Hall—the glittering atrium that greets guests as they board—sets the tone with sleek Wakandan design elements and a majestic bronze statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther. Glowing with ambient lighting and ambient Marvel music, it’s the first Disney ship to feature a superhero in this signature space. Get ready for magical lighting shifts and live character surprises—including possible appearances by the likes of Loki, who may just declare himself ruler of the ship.

Staterooms with Legendary Flair

In true Disney fashion, the staterooms are more than just a place to sleep—they’re part of the story. Each room features custom artwork depicting classic Disney moments of conflict and courage: Hercules vs. the Hydra, Mulan charging into battle, Brave’s Merida against fate, and even Sorcerer Mickey conjuring magic. These vibrant visuals ensure that even bedtime feels enchanted.

Family-friendly layouts include split bathrooms, ample storage, and connecting options for larger groups. For those seeking a bit more luxury, the concierge-level suites offer top-tier perks—and one spectacular Iron Man–themed tower suite, complete with sleek metallic accents and floor-to-ceiling windows high above the sea.

Rotational Dining: New Flavors, Legendary Stories

Dining aboard Disney Destiny is a full-on performance, with three rotational restaurants that guests experience throughout their cruise:

Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King Charred chicken

1. Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King

A stunning new dining show inspired by The Lion King, this venue blends African-inspired cuisine with live music, storytelling, and immersive sunset vistas. Expect vibrant flavors, musical numbers like “Circle of Life,” and magical transformations as you eat.

Worlds of Marvel family eating meal in front of Groot

2. Worlds of Marvel

Back by popular demand from other Wish-class ships, this high-tech dinner features the Guardians of the Galaxy. Groot and Rocket host a cosmic evening with interactive moments, galactic bites, and a few superhero-sized surprises.

1923 dining

3. 1923

Named for the year the Walt Disney Company was founded, this Art Deco restaurant celebrates classic animation and legendary storytelling. On Disney Destiny, it focuses on the dynamic between heroes and villains, showcasing concept art from films like Sleeping Beauty, Big Hero 6, and Hercules.

Other delights include adult-exclusive fine dining at Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté, quick bites at Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods, and sweet stops like Edna Mode’s dessert lab—a super-powered sweet shop filled with cupcakes, candies, and couture chaos.

Broadway-Caliber Entertainment and Villainous Fun

DCL Hercules show coming to Destiny

Entertainment on Destiny is pure Disney magic. The ship’s main theater hosts a lineup of stage spectacles, including a brand-new musical adaptation of Hercules—complete with gospel hits, new songs, massive puppets, and Olympic-sized theatrics.

Other shows include:

  • Frozen – A Musical Spectacular

  • Disney Seas the Adventure (a Captain Minnie-led celebration of Disney characters and songs)

Nighttime deck parties include the thrilling Pirates Rockin’ Parlay Party, capped with real fireworks at sea. And for the brave-hearted? Rumors of Oogie Boogie’s Dance Party, Villains Trivia, and spontaneous meet-and-greets with Cruella, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, and more add a mischievous edge to your evenings.

For Kids, Tweens, and Teens: A Playground of Possibilities

No one does family fun like Disney, and Destiny brings fresh spins on favorite kids' areas:

  • Oceaneer Club (ages 3–10): Explore zones like Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall, and Star Wars: Cargo Bay, packed with character experiences, games, and training missions.

  • “it’s a small world” Nursery: A cozy, colorful space for babies and toddlers.

  • Edge (ages 11–13) and Vibe (ages 14–17): Hip lounges with games, music, and hangout spaces perfect for tweens and teens.

Plus, the interactive ship-wide game Disney Uncharted Adventure returns, letting families use their phones to complete quests alongside Disney characters.

Water Slides, Splash Zones, and Marvelous Pools

Top-deck fun reaches new heights with the return of AquaMouse, Disney Cruise Line’s first-at-sea water coaster. This time, the storyline takes riders on a journey through “Villain Mountain,” complete with spooky animations and splashy surprises.

Families can splash around in:

  • Toy Story Splash Zone

  • Multiple Mickey-themed family pools

  • Slide-a-Saurus Rex, a family water slide

Adults can retreat to the tranquil Quiet Cove Pool, while the onboard Senses Spa & Salon provides a restful escape with treatments, saunas, and the fan-favorite Rainforest Room.

New Lounges and Grown-Up Escapes

Disney Destiny raises the bar for adult-exclusive spaces, with fresh, fun, and sometimes delightfully wicked themes:

  • De Vil’s: A jazz piano lounge inspired by Cruella de Vil’s flair for the dramatic.

  • The Sanctum: A Doctor Strange–themed cocktail bar swirling with mystical vibes.

  • Cask and Cannon: A rum-lover’s pirate pub.

  • Haunted Mansion Parlor: A gothic ghost story turned cocktail experience, complete with "spirit"-ed drinks and haunted décor.

Whether you’re sipping an enchanted old fashioned or laughing over a villainous joke, Destiny's nightlife has something for every grown-up Disney fan.

Itineraries: Caribbean Dreams Await

Launching from Fort Lauderdale, Disney Destiny will sail 4- and 5-night cruises through the Bahamas and Western Caribbean starting in November 2025. Each itinerary includes visits to Disney Castaway Cay and the all-new Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, offering pristine beaches, snorkeling, and exclusive Disney experiences.

Future itineraries may expand to 7-night cruises, but the initial season focuses on short getaways—perfect for families eager to dip into Disney magic.

How Disney Destiny Compares to Other Ships

While Destiny shares its Wish-class DNA with Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, it carves its own path with:

  • A stronger Marvel and villain presence

  • A Lion King–themed dining show (instead of Frozen)

  • Unique character encounters and villain-themed entertainment

  • The most interactive Grand Hall yet, led by Black Panther

Compared to Disney Fantasy or Disney Dream, Destiny is bigger, bolder, and designed with modern families and superfans in mind.

Final Thoughts: A Destiny Worth Following

With its daring design, over-the-top theming, and boundless family fun, the Disney Destiny is more than just a cruise ship—it’s a floating tribute to everything Disney fans love: storytelling, spectacle, and unforgettable experiences. Whether you side with the heroes or secretly root for the villains, there’s no wrong path aboard this magical journey at sea.
